A refillable cylinder designed to hold recovered refrigerant, filled to no more than about 80% of capacity.
Recovery cylinders hold recovered refrigerant. They must never be filled liquid-full: liquid expands as it warms, and without vapour space the hydraulic pressure rises very quickly. The usual limit is about 80% of capacity, checked by weighing against the cylinder's tare weight and rated capacity or with the machine's float switch.
Keep one refrigerant per cylinder, label contaminated refrigerant (for example after a burnout), and check the cylinder's test date.
