A capacitor that stays in a single-phase motor circuit to improve running torque and efficiency.
Run capacitors create a phase shift in a permanent split capacitor (PSC) motor's start winding while it runs. Dual run capacitors serve the compressor (HERM) and fan (FAN) from one can. Test with the power off and the capacitor discharged, measuring each section to common and comparing with the rating and tolerance printed on the case. Replace with the specified value; do not oversize.
