The Red Seal Program publishes an occupational standard and an interprovincial exam for each Red Seal trade. A tradesperson who passes the exam can receive a Red Seal endorsement, which is recognized across participating provinces and territories. In Ontario, the 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic trade is part of the program under the Red Seal title Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic. Its exam has 125 questions across six Major Work Activities.
